This is horrible.
A plane that took off from the Van Nuys airport crashed and killed a pilot in a Santa Maria neighborhood on Wednesday. The plane crashed at an elementary school playground, about 145 miles from Van Nuys.
The video above is from a resident security camera, which was a few blocks away from the crash.
