Who’s on the Ballot? You Decide Today

It’s Primary Election Day here in VA, and your voice matters now more than ever. The choices made today will decide who ends up on the ballot in November for some of the most important races in the state.

If you’re registered, you can vote in any primary taking place in your precinct. Most areas in the 757 are holding Democratic primaries, while Republican primaries are happening in only 31 of Virginia’s 133 cities and counties.

One major race to watch: Lieutenant Governor. It’s a six-way Democratic primary, while former radio host John Reid has already locked in the Republican nomination after the other candidate dropped out for health reasons.

Another key race? Attorney General. Democrats Jay Jones and Shannon Taylor are on the ballot today, vying to take on Republican incumbent Jason Miyares, who’s held the seat since 2022.

Polls are open until 7 PM, so if you haven’t voted yet—there’s still time to pull up and make your voice heard.
