Janet Jackson Declines Grammy Recognition

Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake's 2004 Super Bowl Half time show will always go down as one of the most talked about in history.

Unfortunately for JJ, that's not a good thing. If you recall, there was a wardrobe malfunction during the performance where Justin ripped a piece of Janet's clothing and exposed her nipple to the viewers. Since then Jackson has faced an enormous amount of backlash. The executives at CBS, the station that broadcasted the game and half-time show, were furious, to say the least, and withdrew her invitation to the Grammy's that year. Fast forward 19 years later, CBS seemingly never made amends with Jackson, but still wanted to present her with the Global Impact Award.

Jackson and her team wanted an apology from the network and couldn't come to an agreement and subsequently, the icon did not receive the award nor attend the Grammy's this year.

Hoping the two can come to an agreement next year and put this all behind them!
