Rihanna Will Not Be Paid for Her Halftime Performance During the Super Bowl

ICYMI, Rihanna's halftime performance during the Super Bowl 2023 was epic! Not only did she bring all of the hits (or what she could fit into 13 minutes), but she also brought a very special guest!

Prior to her hitting the field, Rihanna teased there would be a surprise guest. Everyone was shocked when the surprise guest was baby #2! So, essentially, Rihanna made some crazy history (herstory) last night! She is the first known pregnant woman to perform during halftime at the Super Bowl and the first female billionaire to perform! Maybe those billions will help soften the blow for the fans who are upset Rihanna won't get paid one dime after last night's performance. In actuality, no artist has ever gotten paid to perform during halftime. The reason? Exposure! The halftime show is considered more like a 13-minute commercial for the artist. (So kudos to Rih-Rih for breaking out the Fenty mid-performance!) If you recall Shakira and Jennifer Lopez's 2020 halftime performance, as a result, saw 267% and 187% streaming gains in the week following their performance. J-Lo even gained 2.3 million more followers from that show! In 2017, Lady Gaga saw 1,000% in song and album sales after she took the stage.

It's rumored Rihanna will be announcing a tour any day now. Although the timing might be a bit delayed with her bun in the oven and all. However, if she does, there's no doubt after last night's performance, ticket sales will sell out quickly!
