Trump Orders Strike on Iran That Kills Iranian Commander, Qassim Soleimani

Considered to be one of Iran's most powerful figures, Qassim Soleimani was killed today in airstrike ordered by President Trump. In a statement released by the Pentagon, they said "General Soleimani was actively developing plans to attack American diplomats and service members in Iraq and throughout the region. General Soleimani and his Quds Force were responsible for the deaths of hundreds of American and coalition service member and the wounding of thousands more."

The Department of Defense says "The strike was aimed at deterring future Iranian attack plans." They continued with "The United States will continue to take all necessary action to protect our people and our interests wherever they are around the world.

The irony that Trump would order this is eight years ago, he made claims that former President Obama would be the one to carry out these airstrikes on multiple occasions.
