[WATCH] Amber Guyger Convicted of Murder after Killing Botham Jean

In less than 24 hours after the jury began deliberating, Amber Guyger has been found guilty in the murder of 26-year-old, Botham Jean.

Just last year, Jean was in his apartment when Amber Guyger walked into his apartment, shot and killed him. This story made national news after it was discovered Guyger was, at the time, a Dallas Police Officer. She has since been fired. Guyger claims she mistakenly walked into his apartment thinking it was her own, assumed he was a burglar and shot in self defense.

Before convicting Guyger, jurors had the option to consider Texas' "Stand Your Ground" Law which references a person using self-defense in their own home if they feel threatened. However Amber Guyger was not in her home when she shot and killed Botham Jean; She only thought she was allegedly.

We'll keep this post updated with her sentencing.
