Virginia 6th Grader Admits to Lying About Classmates Cutting Her Dreadlocks

If you recall, earlier this month 12-year-old Amari Allen made claims that three white classmates proceeded to attack her, cut off her dreadlocks and call her ugly. "They said my hair was nappy and I was ugly," she said to WRC-TV. "They put their hands over my mouth. They put my hands behind my back and they started cutting my hair and saying it was ugly." This made national news and left a huge black mark on Immanuel Christian School in Springfield, Virginia. According to the schools principal, Stephen Danish, he was able to confirm these accusations were false and says the school feels "tremendous pain for the victims and the hurt on both sides of this conflict.

"To those young boys and their parents, we sincerely apologize for the pain and anxiety these allegations have caused," a statement made from Allen's grandparents. "To the administrators and families of Immanuel Christian School, we are sorry for the damage this incident has done to trust within the school family and the undue scorn it has brought to the school. To the broader community, who rallied in such passionate support for our daughter, we apologize for betraying your trust."

Some are saying they feel the family was paid off to recant the story. Others are simply dissapointed. What do you think?
