Linda Fairstein Says When They See Us is Full of "Distortions"

If you've seen the four-part docu-series, When They See Us, then you know what kind of outrage was set off when Linda Fairstein was shown to be determined to convict five black young men: Korey Wise, Antron McCray, Yusef Salaam, Kevin Richardson and Raymond Santana in the rape of a white woman, Trisha Melli, who was jogging in the infamous NYC park. It also details how they were eventually exonerated from these charges after a serial rapist confessed to the crimes and they even received a $41million settlement from NY, but MANY years later. So, these young men's lives were on pause as they spent years behind bars.

According to Linda Fairstein, who was the prosecutor in the trial, she says Ava DuVernay's depiction of her is "full of distortions and falsehoods." She also added that she is outraged that the director, DuVernay "ignored so much of the truth about the gang of 30 and about the suffering of their victims."

I think it's safe to say she should quit while she's ahead. You've already removed yourself from social media AND been forced to resign from three non-profit boards as well as being dropped from your publisher and your award for Glamour Magazine's Woman of the Year (Whew Chile, the REACH on that one!)

As far DuVernay...
