SZA is officially kicking off the countdown to her next album with an eye-popping teaser of her next hit.
On Monday night, December 9, the Grammy award-winning singer celebrated the second anniversary of her critically acclaimed album SOS by uploading a brief clip of her upcoming single from the project's deluxe version, Lana. In the video, you can hear her unreleased song, which samples The Isley Brothers' 1977 classic “Voyage To Atlantis," while she pops a squat to pee by a creek in the woods at night.
"Clock starts now . Happy anniversary," SZA wrote in her Instagram caption.
SZA has been promoting the album since she confirmed its existence during a concert in New York last year. Midway through her performance, she confirmed the deluxe is an entirely new album with 7-10 fresh songs. In 2024, SZA fueled the conversation behind the LP by doing out-of-this-world interviews on shows like Hot Ones, in which she ate hot wings while wearing bug makeup, and her one-on-one conversation with "Luther" collaborator Kendrick Lamar.
SZA's latest announcement didn't reveal the title of her unreleased song in the clip nor did it confirm the album's exact release date. However, SZA did tell Kai Cenat that her album would arrive before the end of 2024. The project is set to arrive ahead of the "Grand National Tour" with Kendrick Lamar.. The 19-city stadium tour will begin in Minneapolis on April 19, 2025, and wrap up in Washington, D.C. on June 18. Tickets are available now.
