Blue Ivy Carter has made history ââ again.Â
The eldest daughter of BeyoncĂ© and Jay-Z, made history at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday (September 12) after âBrown Skin Girlâ won the award for Best Cinematography. The nine-year-old is now the youngest winner in the award showâs history, sharing the award with her mom, and song collaborators Wizkid and SAINt JHN.Â
The cinematographers for the music video, which was a part of BeyoncĂ©âs Black Is King album and film, are Benoit Soler, Malik H. Sayeed, Mohammed Atta Ahmed, Santiago Gonzalez, and Ryan Helfant.
Prior to this history-making award, Blue was the youngest BET Award winner and the second-youngest Grammy Award-winner earlier this year.
Blue Ivy graces the track with her voice, singing the chorus at the end of the song. Itâs not the first time sheâs been featured on her music icon parentsâ songs.
As an infant, she was featured on Jay-Zâs âGloryâ and on BeyoncĂ©âs song entitled âBlueâ which was featured on the singerâs 2013 self-titled album. She also hit a freestyle on Jayâs bonus track of his 13th studio album 4:44.Â
Other nominees in the category were Billie Eilish for âThere I Amâ, Foo Fighters (âShame Shameâ), Justin Bieber ft. Chance The Rapper (âHolyâ), Lorde (âSolar Powerâ), and Lady Gaga (â911â).
