The Atlanta music festival with a larger-than-life reputation will return under a new name —Freak World. The three-day music festival will see more than 40 artists perform at the Cascade Driving Range in southwest Atlanta on June 19th to the 21st. The raunchy concert made a comeback last year with a lineup aimed at the “grown-and-sexy” crowd, featuring Project Pat,Uncle Luke, Da Brat and Foxy Brown. So far this year, 69 Boyz, Juvenile and 2 Live Crew have been announced.
Promoter Carlos Neal says after seeing that last year’s crowd was 94 percent African-American, he was inspired to host the event in a predominantly African-American neighborhood. The plan is to book around 40-to-50 acts and more than 100 vendors. (Atlanta Journal-Constitution)
