Serena Williams and her newborn daughter, Alexis Olympia, are the new cover stars of Vogue's February 2017 issue.
When we first learned that Williams was engaged to Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian and then, expecting a child with him; overjoyed wasn't the word. We were so happy that the tennis champ found love and was expanding her family. So, imagine our surprise when we saw Williams and her new addition gracing the latest cover of the top fashion publication in the world.
The cover was shot by photographer Mario Testino. It shows the athlete rocking a sexy red dress, while holding her baby -- who rocks a cute white onesie -- on her left side. We also can't help but notice the massive engagement ring on Williams' left hand.
“When I first saw this @voguemagazine cover it brought tears to my eyes,” Williams captioned the cover on IG. “All Vogue covers are special but to share this one with my beautiful daughter @olympiaohanian also the youngest Vogue cover star makes it moment I will never forget.”
While speaking about being a mother and businesswoman, and never setting limits on herself, Williams said: "I think sometimes women limit themselves. I’m not sure why we think that way, but I know that we’re sometimes taught to not dream as big as men, not to believe we can be a president or a CEO, when in the same household, a male child is told he can be anything he wants. I’m so glad I had a daughter. I want to teach her that there are no limits."
