Kim Kardashian's 2021 Met Gala look turned heads and created buzz, as well as multiple theories regarding what the look was aspiring to be. Now, the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star's former husband, Kanye West, has taken to Instagram to show his support for the outfit.
Kardashian sported an all-black Balenciaga ensemble that covered her from head to toe that has left people guessing what exactly it symbolized. Some fans have suggested that the look was created to match West's most recent album, Donda, the rapper walking around wearing a ski mask during promotions for the record. Others have theorized that the look was created to show how much Kardashian's body has influenced American beauty – everyone knew that it was Kim Kardashian wearing the look despite only being able to see a silhouette of her body. Kardashian herself joked that the outfit fit this year's theme, "In America: A Lexicon of Fashion," with a teasing caption, "What's more American than a T-shirt head to toe?!"
West, who shares four children with Kardashian, including North (8), Saint (5), Chicago (3), and Psalm (2), kept his praise for Kardashian short. Captioning two photos of Kardashian's look with a simple goat emoji, the rapper offered his seal of approval for the look.
Beside Kardashian at the Met Gala was Balenciaga's creative director, Demma Gvasalia, who had been introduced to the KKW Beauty mogul via West. That Gvasalia attended the Met Gala was a big deal in and of itself, as the elusive designer does not even walk out at the end of his own fashion shows.
At the end of August, a source close to ET Online revealed that West wants to get back together with Kardashian, and that the reality TV star is considering it, but the two are keeping their children a priority while they work things out. The rumors of the two reuniting first sparked after Kardashian attended one of West's Donda listening parties sporting a bridal gown, the two celebrities recreating their 2014 wedding. Kardashian filed for divorce from West this past February.
